Memories merge; they fade and strengthen with time.
To express this process I overlay spatially and temporally disparate visual impressions. Individual exposure’s gradations in colour and structure fuse into compositions of abstract texture - buildings, humans, roads, means of transport and plants - in which the superimposed layers give the impression as if one motif is reflected in a layer above or below. What emerges out of this – Tokyo Joinings - is not foreseeable, just as little as the memories of the journey remained and will remain.
